Smith Cove Archaeology — Meet November 19!

JOIN US FOR THIS IMPORTANT HISTORICAL EVENT:
KING COUNTY PRESENTS

THE RECENT SIGNIFICANT ARCHAEOLOGY
FINDS FROM SMITH COVE

November 19, open house starts at 5:30 p.m.

The open house part will consist of:

  • Refreshments (of course)
  • Archaeology of Smith Cove- Alicia Valentino will bring artifacts from the Smith Cove site
  •  Archaeology of West Point – artifacts and study materials
  • Activity area- people will get to see tools, talk about field work, screen dirt, etc.
  • Storytelling booth- King County videographer will film or record people’s stories about their history in Seattle

The presentation period will begin with Hillary Schafer describing King County’s work to protect cultural resources, followed by Chris Lockwood with the geohistory of the area, and then the bulk of the presentation will be Alicia Valentino telling the story of the findings. We’ll have time for Q and A as well.

We expect to end around 9:00 p.m.
